Bike position influences the human body’s ability to deliver power to the pedals correctly and efficiently. The correct position ensures comfort, endurance, bike handling and speed.
The starting point is finding the right size bike. The fit process then consists of three parts:
- Correct cleat fit to shoes
- Correct body fit to bike, and
- Correct saddle fit to your butt

Variances in body sizes, proportions, levels of fitness, flexibility and age all affect a cyclist’s best position on the bike.
At Mega Bike we take the time to go through every aspect of these variances to achieve the best bike fit. Once your bike has been fitted we will conduct a series of muscle tests and film your pedalling action. This will highlight what you do well and what you do badly. We will then correct your pedalling technique with the two most relevant lessons from our Mega Spin classes. Your new pedalling technique will increase your power output by up to 20%.
At our Adelaide bike shop, we provide a clipless Pedal Coaching session in addition to the bike fit to ensure you can use clipless pedals safely and effectively.
Road, track and MTB fits require approximately one hour, triathlon fits require approximately two. Clipless pedal tuition will add an hour to your bike fit.
